Farley Jackmaster Funk, a Chicago-born celebrity DJ/Producer/Writer/Entrepreneur, is known as the King of House Music. He revolutionized the genre, breaking over 90% of House Music’s original songs in the early 80’s and continues to be a major force in the industry today. His hit single “Love Can’t Turn Around” featuring Darryl Pandy topped the British charts, putting House music on a global stage.

Farley was the first House Music DJ to win the DNC and Brit Award in England, solidifying his impact on the genre. He is currently the longest-running House Music DJ in the world on V103 radio and has received recognition from prestigious institutions such as the U.S. Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award, Dance Music Hall of Fame, and Brand Laureate Lifetime Achievement Award in Malaysia. Farley owns the House Music & Steppers Museums & Hall of Fames. He was a resident DJ at iconic venues like The Legendary Playground & WareHouse Disco, showcasing his signature House sound.

Farley’s contributions to the genre are commemorated with a street sign on 14th & Michigan “The King of House Music” and “Hotmix 5 Way” located near the Buckingham Fountain.
