In this time of increased need for healing, many people are rising up to provide that healing space. Listiner Martinez, an Award-Winning Author, Accountability Coach, entrepreneur, mentor, inspirational speaker, and mother of three, created the “Healing is Journey Conference” series to inspire, motivate, and show compassion for others. She was awarded the 40 under 40 young women’s professional league award in 2016 and was featured on several podcasts and radio shows. Being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020 and growing up in an abusive environment on the south side of Chicago, Listiner uses her own healing journey to inspire others to heal.
Listiner also gave us additional insight into the “Healing is a Journey Conference,” and her healing journey:
Chante Gamby (CG): What inspired you to create this conference?
Listiner Martinez (LM): Healing Is A Journey™ is birthed from my obedience to God first and foremost. I have overcome some traumatic experiences that could have broken me and killed me, but God spared my life too often. I wanted my life experiences to become a testimony to the Glory of God by providing a platform that allows people to start healing and connect with other individuals who have gone through the fire and are on the other side of it. I believe you haven’t lived your life well if you are not walking in God’s purpose. Healing Is A Journey™ is not just a conference series, it’s a lifestyle and my ministry
CG: What are your hopes for the event?
LM: I hope that by attending Healing Is A Journey™, individuals can find the start of their healing, by letting go of the unforgiveness, shame, fears, anger, guilt, and hopelessness. I want individuals to know what it feels like to live a life full of HOPE, JOY, LOVE, and PEACE.
LM: Allow yourself to feel what you need to feel, address your emotions, and not suppress them. Then find healthy outlets to release and express them. Here are a few examples:
1.) Seek Help Professionally (talking to someone who can help you gain perspective, understanding, and clarity)
2.) Journaling (writing is a great way to release)
3.) Prayer and Meditation
4.) Unplug (tuning out the noise can help to process what you have gone through)
5.) Self-care: Resting, eating, taking a walk, etc
