An explosion and fire damaged three homes in the southern suburb of Sauk Village, injuring two people and displacing more than a dozen others. The Sauk Village Fire Department says the explosion was reported late Thursday afternoon, and the house where it occurred was engulfed in flames and partially collapsed when firefighters arrived on the scene. Two men who were in the home at the time of the explosion were taken to a hospital in Dyer, Ind., but were later transferred to the burn unit at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.
