MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — You would have thought that the multitudes who assembled at Sun Life Stadium would have been wore out after Run DMC, Roy Ayers, Brian Culbertson and Valerie Tyson laid them back with a potent social coctail of old school jazz, R&B and hip hop.
Turns out, the crowd was just getting revved up.
Super eccentric and equally talented Erykah Badu marveled the tens of thousands of music enthusiasts with her thick portfolio of hit songs that span back from the mid-1990s up until today, including the popular “Tyrone,” “Bag Lady,” “Love of My Life,” and “Next Lifetime,” among others.
Grammy winning singer-songwriter and lady favorite Maxwell, cloaked in a violet suit, shut down the 10th annual music fest right by immediately belting out the hits that make the ladies knees quiver such as “This Woman’s Work,” “Pretty Wings,” and other hits that put the finishing touches on a sold out Jazz in the Gardens.
Officials said that this year’s festival was the most successful it’s hosted yet, as more than 70,000 music lovers attended the record-breaking affair.
