EEOC sues Utah builder for racial discrimination

Federal authorities are suing a Utah construction company for workplace discrimination.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Federal authorities are suing a Utah construction company for workplace discrimination. The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission says builder Holmes & Holmes Industrial Inc. of Magna fired two former black workers who complained of racial taunts and epitaphs from managers and other employees. Tuesday’s lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court of Utah seeks back pay with interest for the two workers. A message left for an owner of Holmes & Holmes wasn’t immediately returned.
