Eden Career Institute announced this week that they have officially opened their doors for business. Located 7600 West Roosevelt Road, Forest Park, Ill., Eden Career Institute (ECI), was founded by Dr. Bill Winston.
With a vision to be a leading force in empowering individuals to achieve their career aspirations and transform their lives, ECI is committed to providing high-quality vocational training and education that equips students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to succeed in today’s rapidly evolving job market.
Eden Career Institute (ECI) is a faith-based organization that empowers individuals to achieve meaningful career aspirations through high-quality vocational education and training. Dr. Winston, who is an astute and highly successful pastor and businessman, was highly influenced throughout his life by the spirit and legacy of Booker T. Washington, founder of Tuskegee University.
Patterning many of his businesses on the model of Booker T. Washington, he created Eden Career Institute to help transform lives, eradicate income insufficiency and poverty, and improve the quality of life for thousands by producing graduates with indispensable skills and undeniable value in the marketplace.
“Someone recently shared with me that in the near future, 80% of new jobs won’t require a four-year college degree. In other words, many employers will focus more on skills-based or vocational hiring in the not-too-distant future,” said Dr. Bill Winston. “When I heard this, it confirmed that the classes and training certifications offered through Eden Career Institute are needed now more than ever. Our curriculum specializes in careers that meet the needs and demands of today’s workforce.”
ECI focuses on career placement, military/veteran citizen re-entry with a student-centered, hands-on learning approach anchored on industry-relevant curriculum. Veterans, active military personnel, women, people re-entering society, and mature adults seeking to switch careers, are some of the target audiences ECI serves.
ECI’s comprehensive technical training programs are designed to equip individuals with the skills and expertise needed to thrive in their chosen fields. Each category encompasses a range of specialized programs tailored to industry needs and demands. Some of the programs offered at ECI include advanced manufacturing, construction, and renewable and sustainable innovative technology. The advanced manufacturing program includes technical career training paired with either registered apprenticeships or related certifications recognized by national industry manufacturing institutions.
The electrical vehicle curriculum trains technicians in the emerging workforce clean technology sector to maintain and repair electric vehicles and related components. The construction program also combines career training with apprenticeships or related certifications recognized by national industry building trades. Some of the jobs the school train attendees for include welder, robotics technician, electromechanical and mechatronics technician, painter, and more.
“Today, more than ever, the dignity of work in trade careers plays a crucial role in shaping our marketplace. At Eden Career Institute, we understand the significance of providing the necessary vocational education and training to empower individuals for successful careers in trades. We are committed to equipping our students with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in today’s competitive job market. Join us at our Interactive Trade Expo and Job Resource Fair and step into your future,” said Dr. LaShondra Kyle, executive director of Eden Career Institute.
ECI opened its doors this week and looks forward to serving students in-person and online. The onsite certified apprenticeship programs are held at mHUB, 1623 W Fulton Street, Chicago, IL.
