SEVEN DISNEY PRINCESSES SPARKLE IN “DISNEY ON ICE” in a skating spectacular featuring Cinderella, Jasmine, Ariel, Sleeping Beauty, Belle, Mulan, Snow White and special guest Tinker Bell at the United Center for five days September 8-12 at 7 p.m. each evening. Additional matinee performances are 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The Sunday 7 p.m. show is a Spanish performance. Tickets are available at the United Center Box Office, 1901 W. Dearborn, stages Leonard Bernstein’s “Candide” in its Albert Theatre opening September 27 at 7 p.m. as a co-production with Shakespeare Theatre Company and directed by Mary Zimmerman. STEPPENWOLF THEATRE, 1650 N. Halsted St., presents “Detroit”, a new play by Lisa D’Amour featuring Austin Pendleton, Ian Barford, Robert Breuler and Laurie Metcalf  “Detroit” begins Thursday with press opening September 18 at 3 p.m. and September 21 at 7:30 p.m. Cast includes Kevin Anderson, Kate Arrington, Ian Barford, Robert Breuler and Laurie Metcalf. Ben and Mary fire up their grill to welcome new neighbor, however three barbecues later, the friendship breaks out of control and the consequences shatters with comical fury.
