Cynthia Levin, gala chair for Goodman Theatre’s women’s board, announced that Grammy Award-nominated singer Heather Headley is set to perform Saturday at the board’s annual fundraiser, which will be held at The Fairmont Hotel, 200 N. Columbia Dr. The black-tie event begins with a 6:30 p.m. cocktail reception, followed by Headley’s 7:30 performance. The festivities continue with an elegant dinner and a dance to the tunes of the Ken Arlen Orchestra. Proceeds help fund the theatre’s educational and community engagement programs. DIANA ROSS, ONE OF MOTOWN’S FAMOUS VOCALISTS is booked for the Chicago Theatre, 175 N. State St., May 27 at 8 p.m., performing as part of her More Today Than Yesterday: The Greatest Hits Tour. The performance, titled Things to Come: 21st Century Dizzy,” is Friday at 8 p.m. Musicians include Perez, David Sanchez and Rudresh Mahanthappa on alto saxophone, Amir Elsaffar on trumpet and vocals, Jamey Haddad on percussion, Ben Street on bass and Adam Cruz on drums.
