The Ramsey Lewis Trio featuring Nancy Wilson are booked June 18 as a feature for the Jazz All Stars with The Dave Brubeck Quartet.

 Earth, Wind & Fire is scheduled make its Ravinia debut June 6 at 7 p.m. Others stars scheduled to entertain this summer include Sting, Colbie Caillat, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Nelly Furtado, The Moody Blues, Train, Vince Gill and other stars.

The Ramsey Lewis Trio featuring Nancy Wilson are booked June 18 as a feature for the Jazz All Stars with The Dave Brubeck Quartet. June events kick off in the Pavilion with the Chicago Children’s Choir, June 4 at 7:30 p.m., Country Superstar Vince Gill and James Otto, June 5 at 7:30 p.m., Steve Martin and The Steep Canyon Rangers June 12 at 7:30 p.m., Bobby McFerrin featuring a program from “Vocabularies” at 7 p.m., The Moody Blues are making their first appearance at 8 p.m. and the Chicago Symphony summer residency with James Conlon, Ravinia Music Director, begins June 28 and continues through August 15.

YOUTH MUSIC CONCERT featured on the enclosed stage of Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park, on Michigan Avenue at Washington Street, includes a showcase of young generation of young music stars including vocalists from Northwestern University, DePaul University, Midwest Young Artists and the Music Institute of Chicago April 24 at12:15 p.m.

 TENOR SAXOPHONIST RED HOLLOWAY joins Jeff Lindberg’s Chicago Jazz Orchestra in a musical tribute to tenor saxophonist Eddie Johnson, April 25 at 3 p.m. at the International House of the University of Chicago, 1414 E. 59th St. Trumpet virtuoso  Art Davis and Eric Schneider,  jazz saxophonist, along with other musicians will participate in the concert that is sponsored by Global Voices of 59th Street Jazz and Jazz Unites, Unites, Inc.                                                                   

 PIANIST JEREMY JORDAN of Chicago and a scholarship student at Juilliard School of Music in New York City has been chosen by the Chicago Music Association to represent the Branch No. 1 of the National Association of Negro Musician’s national piano contest in Cleveland during the month of April. He has performed as soloist for the Chicago Sinfonietta under the direction of Dr. Paul Freeman.

JAZZ AT VELVET LOUNGE, 67 E. Cermak, features The Jazz Masters Series on April 21 at 8:30 p.m. with Red Chai with Renee’ Baker (violin/composer), with Edwin Daugherty (saxes/percussion), Teddy Rankin-Parker (cello), Steven Nelson (vibes), Josh Abrams (bass) and Art “Turk” Burton (percussion).

 NEW  HORIZONS ENSEMBLE showcases Ernest Dawkins (woodwinds/percussion), with Steve Berry (trombone/percussion), Julius Paul (bass/percussion) and Isaiah Spencer (drums/percussion) April 22  at 8:30 p.m.

YEYI presents musicians jam on April 23 at 9:30 p.m. with Adam Rudolph (percussion – Los Angeles – Mandingo Griot Society, Moving Pictures, Eternal Wind) and Ralph “Buzzy” Jones (multi-reeds/flutes/percussion – Detroit – Eternal Wind).

 3.5.7. ENSEMBLE blends its sextet consisting of Nick Anaya (sax), James Davis (trumpet), Rob Frye (sax), Richard Zili (clarinet), Alexis Dionissopoulos (guitar), Chris Dammann (bass) and Dylan Andrews (drums).
