According to TMZ, Houston Rockets star Dwight Howard was cleared of child abuse charges, but his baby’s mother Royce Reed claimed otherwise and that the case is still open.
Although he was reportedly cleared of charges alleging he abused his son Braylon (photographed with his sisters Jahaziel and TaShanda), “Basketball Wives” star Reed said these reports are false, according to YBF.
Reed said she took Braylon to Children’s Services in the Orlando, FL with bruises and abrasions on his leg allegedly caused by a belt.
Yes, Howard did admit to disciplining his son with a belt, but he claimed he didn’t leave bruises, marks or welts of any kind. His lawyers claimed no medical attention was needed as well.
Children’s Services closed out the case, according to TMZ, and no charges were filed against Howard, due to the alleged incident.
But Reed isn’t settling for a closed case. It’s the same situation as battling over custody for Braylon with Howard for years. She continues to fight her ex over their son.
She wrote on Instagram, “let’s get the facts straight! THE CASE IS NOT CLOSED & HE IS/WAS NOT CLEARED! The investigation is STILL open as he REFUSES to speak to the police. So whoever these reps are that are lying & trying to slander me, just know the gloves are off & I’m not the 1 to play with when it comes to my son! That is all!”
Recently, Howard filed legal docs claiming Reed is an unfit mother, “it’s no coincidence that these false allegations were ‘leaked’ on the heels of Dwight filing for major custody of his son…”
He added, “it is troubling to see a mother use her son as a pawn against his father,” and that Dwight will do “whatever is necessary to protect [the child’s] welfare and best interests.”
