Dream Big Gala Concert Returns to Inspire, Entertain, and Fundraise for Musical Training, New Building

It promises to be an evening for dreaming big and doing good. The Musical Arts Institute presents “The Dream Big Gala Concert” with notable performances from premiere jazz musician & Co-founder of Musical Arts Institute, Michael Manson, Billboard charting jazz artist Marqueal Jordan and featuring special guest Grammy nominated vocalist/musician Jeffrey Osborne.

The fundraising event to benefit students of MAI takes place on Jan. 13, 2024, 6-10 p.m. at the Loews Hotel located at 5300 N. River Road in Rosemont, IL, 60018.

This annual MAI event is dedicated to turning the musical aspirations of African American youth into reality, with proceeds from “The Dream Big Gala Concert” earmarked for sponsoring musical instruction and programs.

In addition to performances by acclaimed professionals, the fundraiser also serves as a showcase for tomorrow’s rising stars. Extraordinary student performances ranging from orchestral pieces to instrumental solos and inspiring vocals promise to be both exciting, entertaining and a celebration of MAI’s new building facility slated to open in 2024.

Honorary Chairperson for this year’s Dream Big Gala is Karen Freeman Wilson, President & CEO of The Chicago Urban League.

Musical Arts Institute’s mission is to equip students in underserved neighborhoods to compete for college scholarships and/or students for sustainable professional careers in music. MAI has instructed over 4,000 inner-city students in Chicago and currently supports 17 Chicago Public Schools.

“We firmly believe that music has the power to inspire, educate and transform lives,” says MAI co-owner/founder and Executive Director Michel Manson about the idea behind the creation of the organization. “By offering comprehensive musical instruction, including instrument lessons, vocal training and ensemble experiences, we provide children with a well-rounded musical education that nurtures their talent and love for music.”

Bassist and Music Educator Manson works in tandem with co-founder and Co-Executive Director Lana Manson to promote MAI’s goal of providing outstanding music instruction in Chicago’s underserved communities.

She adds, “MAI’s ‘The Dream Big Gala Concert’ is a grand celebration that brings together individuals, organizations and philanthropists who share a common vision of nurturing the creative & musical talents and aspirations of young minds.”
