Dr. Varrick Douglas Sr. is a dedicated and dynamic Senior Law Enforcement Executive and Educator with a distinguished career spanning nearly four decades. With a proven track record of excellence, he possesses expertise in relationship management, team leadership and community outreach.

Dr. Douglas began his law enforcement career in 1986 with the Cook County Sheriff’s Department before joining the University of Chicago Police Department in 1990. In 1991, he transitioned to the Chicago Police Department, where he served with distinction for 30 years. Upon retiring in 2021, he returned to the University of Chicago Police Department, bringing his wealth of experience and leadership to his current role as the lead commander of the Strategic Operations Center.

Throughout his career, his priorities have remained steadfast: a deep dedication to public safety and a passion for education. He has consistently worked to make a meaningful impact on the communities he serves, emphasizing crime prevention, safety initiatives, and community engagement.
