Grammy and Stellar award-winning composer, producer and recording artist, Donald Lawrence’s, latest project, "The Law of Confession, Part 1" gets high praise from listeners.

The Quiet Water/Verity Records CD release peaked to No. 3 on the gospel Billboard charts in less than a month.

"The Law of Confession" is a tool and principle for everybody to live by. It’s a way to apply something to your words to get a guaranteed result.

Lawrence, a North Carolina native, has called Chicago, the “gospel capital of the world,” his home since 2001 and is convinced this project is his best ever in content.

“They need to get this…listen to the whole thing. It will really put you in a mindset,” Lawrence said about his album. It’s a reminder of how important the scripture is to my daily life,” he said.

“I’m trying to help everybody get their words together so their words can shape your world,” said Lawrence, the former music director for Stephanie Mills.

Lawrence gives co-producing credits to the talented, Daniel Weatherspoon. Additionally, he boasts of an all-star background ensemble that includes Stellar Award winner, Dewayne Woods; Kim McFarland-Anderson; Latrice Pace of the Pace Sisters; and Jason Nelson, twin brother of Jonathan Nelson.

The Word of the Lord is the first track that sets the atmosphere for the CD, which Lawrence describes as a musical soundtrack for the Rev. Dr. Bill Winston’s book, due to be released this spring. Winston is pastor of Living Word Christian Center located in west suburban Forest Park.

The song is a reminder of several Bible passages that confirm God’s word as powerful and honored above His name.
