Destiny Colon, Chicago Teen, Shot While Waiting For Bus To School In Apparent Robbery

A woman and a 17-year-old girl were wounded early morning in separate shootings on Chicago’s South Side Monday
Destiny Colon, a senior at Epic Academy, was waiting at a CTA bus stop at 102nd Street and Commercial Avenue around 7:55 a.m. when the shooting occurred. A witness told police the shooter wanted her cell phone, according to ABC Chicago.
Police say Colon was shot in the stomach before she had a chance to respond and was later taken to an area hospital in critical condition, according to CBS Chicago.
