Rep. Chaka Fattah (D-Pa.) made a birther joke on Friday after a Republican colleague suggested that a lack of trust in the Obama administration was preventing the GOP-controlled House from passing immigration reform.
“I think the problem with our side and many people in America is there’s a lack of trust in the administration,” Rep. Frank Wolf (R-Va.) said.
“I mean some people don’t think he was born in America, but we still have to run the most important country in the world, whether we agree with who got elected president or what,” Fattah responded.
The comments came as Attorney General Eric Holder was testifying on the Justice Department’s budget during a House Appropriations Committee hearing.
