Demetrius A. Few is a dedicated leader with a deep-rooted commitment to community service, professional excellence, and mentorship. As a long-standing member and treasurer of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., he has played a pivotal role in organizing impactful initiatives, from feeding the homeless to supporting food pantries and assisting seniors. His leadership extends to nonprofit boards such as My Steps!, which supports battered women, and Leaders Today, where he mentors young men transitioning from juvenile detention.
Professionally, Demetrius has excelled in education and administration, advancing from a substitute teacher to Director of Operations/Finance Manager. He was instrumental in transforming three Chicago Public Schools into STEM institutions, expanding students’ access to innovative learning opportunities. His advocacy for students and educators is further reflected in his success in securing funding for equitable student resources and fostering supportive learning environments.
Mentorship is at the heart of his mission. He founded Chosen Few, a mentoring group for young Black men, and launched a drumline at Claremont Academy in Englewood to foster creativity and teamwork. As co-chair of Kappa League, he expands opportunities for young men to explore cultural, educational, and career pathways. His dedication continues to uplift and inspire the next generation.
