The Dearborn Realtist Board has been fighting for “Democracy In Housing”
since 1941. The Dearborn Realtist Board is the oldest African American Real Estate Trade
Association in the country. Predating the National organization, which is called the National
Association of Real Estate Brokers. Today, known as, The Premier Network of Black Real
Estate Professionals, the local Chicago Chapter of NAREB.
The 82nd Annual Installation Gala: Building Bridges That Last will be held on March 30, 2023 at
6pm. This wonderful event will be held at the South Shore Cultural Center located at 7059 S
South Shore Dr, Chicago, IL 60649. The event will feature the installation of new Board Officers
and Directors, as well as the presentation of awards to outstanding members and partners of
the Dearborn Realtist community.
During the Gala, Sanina Ellison Jones who is the CEO and Managing Broker of Re-CHRG, Inc.,
a real estate brokerage firm in Chicago, will be sworn in as the 43rd President, succeeding
President Gwendolene Newton. Mrs. Jones’ focus on Building Bridges That Last and
connecting the past, present and future is an admirable goal and an important one to strive
for in order to continue President Newton’s 5 year strategic plan of making an I.M.P.A.C.T.

Appointed by President Joe Biden, Sandra Thompson has become the Director of the
Federal Housing Finance Agency. The Dearborn Realtist Board is excited to host a Fireside
Chat with her during the installation and learn how her leadership and expertise can help
the agency, the community, and the City of Chicago. This is a historic moment for Chicago
and the Dearborn Realtist Board.
