As the racial divide continues between law enforcement and African-Americans in the U.S., a new trend has emerged on social media.
Media sources report that white Twitter users are sharing stories of their own that highlight getting away with various crimes with minimal or no action taken against them by police. The trend, dubbed #CrimingWhileWhite, has featured many questionable tweets from those either seeking attention or just wanting to take part of it. Nevertheless, there are reportedly hundreds of genuine tweets that actually get across the point of how inconceivable it is for white people to get away with so much without police involvement.
The #CrimingWhileWhite trends comes amid the recent non-indictment decisions in the Michael Brown and Eric Garner cases as well as growing tension over the death of 12-year-old Tamir Rice.
