CHICAGO (AP) — Cook County authorities will conduct roadside checks for impaired drivers this New Year’s weekend.

Sheriff Tom Dart says his office has arrested 35 people in the last four days for driving on warrants for driving under the influence.

Dart says his office will continue that operation through the weekend.

He encourages residents to have a great time during the holiday and not to drink and drive.
