Columbus Short at ‘ATL Live on the Park’ Feat. Tank, Havok Jones

Former “Scandal” star Columbus Short picked the right spot to take a respite for being on the lam from the law (really?!?) when he popped in on the 3rd annual All-White Affair during the ATL Live on the Park musical extravaganza that featured soul crooner Tank, Havok Jones and Kris Kelli.
Short, who is allegedly performing a Barry Sanders-type juke from the authorities who are “looking” for him regarding an assault in a Los Angeles-area bar, shut the stage down when he flossed the same type of dizzying dance routine that brought him fame through the Roll Bounce movie he starred in alongside Meagan Good.

Shanti Das and Marlon Nichols presented at Piedmont Park’s Park Tavern, with Revolt TV’s Kenny Burns manning the mic and got the crowd moving, alongside DJ Trauma and house-band, Quinn and Jukebox. Sponsors of the August edition of ATL Live on the Park included Gentlemen Jack, Aaron’s, Cantu Beauty, Magic 107.5, and the W Atlanta-Midtown.

Havok Jones the quadruple cuties of members Kea Aleis, Keiko, Aire B., and MaiDai rocked the stage beginning with their rendition of “Who Can I Run To,” by the 90s band Xscape, followed by a cover of En Vogue’s “Lose Control.” Following their performance, the girls were presented on stage with a poster-sized copy of their upcoming feature on the cover of Atlanta-based, FAME Magazine.
Jamaican import Kris Kelli revved the crowd up another gear with hits like Dawn Penn’s “You Don’t Love Me” and “Daddy’s Little Girl.” Kelli ended her performance with a song from her newest project, titled “Forever They Cry,” and credited Bob Marley and Peter Tosh, as her main musical inspirations.
Following Kelli’s performance, Kenny Burns encouraged R.L. of Next, Columbus Short, formerly, of ABC series Scandal, and members of Jagged Edge to hit the stage. R.L. sang, while Short danced, followed by an impromptu performance by Jagged Edge of their popular song “I Gotta Be.”
Singer, songwriter, and Grammy nominee, Tank headlined the event in celebration of his new album release, Stronger. He performed many of his top hits, including “You’re My Star,” “Slowly,” “Emergency,” “I Deserve,” and “It Ain’t Worth.” In between songs, he interacted with the lively crowd by joking, dancing, laughing, and asking the audience for song requests. Tank ended his performance with “I Can’t Make You Love Me,” requested by birthday girl in the crowd.
Along with Columbus Short, other celebs in the building included ctor’s Jackie Long and Keith Robinson, Block of Block Entertainment / Bad Boy, Jagged Edge, Peter Thomas (RHOA), Chaka Zulu (Ludacris Manager), Kawan KP Prather (VP of A&R, Atlantic Records), Michael Mauldin (industry veteran), Jennifer Drake (Universal Records), Cannon Kent (Atlantic Records), Greggory Smith (Associate Dir, SESAC) and more.
Take a look at some of the photos from the evening.
