The world renowned Chosen Few Djs will host a house music concert event as part of the City of Chicago’s Protect Chicago Music Series. The show will be held at the Kennedy King College campus on August 28 from 12pm-7pm and will be open only to Chicago residents age 18 and up who are fully vaccinated by August 14.
“Chicago is now fully open and we’re all thrilled to get back to the concerts and experiences we missed last summer,” said CDPH Commissioner Allison Arwady, M.D. “I encourage everyone who loves house music to get fully vaccinated to protect themselves and their families, and to fully enjoy the summer in Chicago with an in-person Chosen Few DJs party, and other upcoming Protect Chicago Music Series shows.”
“This is a significant opportunity to bring our community together, enjoying something they love – house music – while encouraging everyone to protect themselves and their families by getting vaccinated,” said Gregory Thomas, President of Kennedy-King College. “We will also be on hand to help our community find out how they can enroll in classes this fall and sharing what funding options are available to them that includes our Statesmen scholarship.”
Chicagoans who are interested in the event can register right away at Chicago.gov/PCMS, but they will not receive a ticket until after the vaccination deadline of August 14. Registrations are on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is a limited number of tickets available, and individuals are encouraged to register early.
Attendees must have received the final dose of a two-dose vaccine or a single-dose vaccine on or before August 14 to be eligible to attend. A ticket to the event will be issued once concert organizers confirm vaccination status and City address.
Founded in 1977 by Wayne Williams, the Chosen Few DJs is a music collective that was among the first wave of Chicago DJs and producers who created what became known as House Music. Since 1990, the collective – Williams, Jesse Saunders, Tony Hatchett, Alan King, Andre Hatchett, Terry Hunter, and Mike Dunn, along with childhood friend, Kim Parham – have organized the Chosen Few Picnic & House Music Festival in Chicago, drawing more than 40,000 fans from across the globe.
Additionally, the Chosen Few DJs host events in cities across the United States and perform at festivals around the world, and produce award-winning, chart-topping music. The 2021 Chosen Few Festival was held virtually this year and fans are anxiously awaiting the 2022 Festival to return in person next summer.

Individuals, who want to be vaccinated with the two-dose Pfizer vaccine, have to get their first dose on or before Saturday, July 24 and their second dose on or before Saturday, August 14. Those who want the one-time Johnson & Johnson vaccine, have until Saturday, August 14, to be vaccinated. COVID-19 vaccines are widely available and offered at no cost. Through a partnership between the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE), the Protect Chicago Music Series includes a variety of musical events across the Chicagoland area as an incentive and benefit for Chicagoans who receive a COVID-19 vaccine to protect their families, communities, and themselves.
