HANOVER PARK, Ill. — Hanover Park Mayor Rod Craig spent the weekend trying to reassure residents in the northwestern Chicago suburb after what may have been the town’s third murder in three days and the fourth in two weeks. In the most recent case, police responding to a 911 call Saturday evening found a dead woman. The investigation was continuing Sunday, but Craig said the death appeared homicidal. In the early morning hours Saturday, a 23-year-old man was fatally stabbed during a high school graduation party in the village. Earlier, a 32-year-old man was been charged with the murder of his pregnant girlfriend and her unborn child in their village home. And last month, 16-year-old Jesus Sanchez was shot dead in what may have been a gang-related revenge killing. ______ Copyright 2009 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
