A Chicago man faces murder and robbery charges after a weekend crime spree around the metro area that investigators are still piecing together. James Amison was charged with first-degree murder in 40-year-old Stephanie Reed’s death. Her body was found Saturday in her Chicago home. Family members say Amison and Reed had dated. Amison also faces attempted murder in suburban Maywood for allegedly shooting his father, who was wounded in the neck on Friday. Police say Amison is a suspect in another killing. Authorities say things ended late Saturday when Amison allegedly tried to rob customers at a Chicago strip club before he was shot by a customer. He faces attempted robbery. Amison is under police guard at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. It’s unclear if he has an attorney. Copyright 2009 The Associated Press.
