
CHICAGO (AP) – A Chicago man has been charged in the April shooting death of a 16-year-old high school student.
According to relatives of the victim, Michael Flournoy was shot during a fight in the South Side neighborhood of Burnside.
The Chicago Police Department says in a news release that Kenneth K. Jackson of the Washington Park neighborhood was charged with first-degree murder and mob action. He also faces unrelated charges of possession of a controlled substance.
Jackson was scheduled to appear in bond court Wednesday. It was not immediately clear if he already had an attorney.
Flournoy was a sophomore at Simeon Career Academy where he played football and was a wrestler.
