A United Airlines charter flight leaves Monday night after a send-off celebration at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport.

Athletes including gymnastics star Nadia Comaneci and track ace Jackie Joyner-Kersee are headed to the Danish capital for the International Olympic Committee’s Friday vote on a 2016 host city.

Chicago is a finalist along with Tokyo, Madrid and Rio de Janeiro.

Chicago’s top bid officials, including Mayor Richard Daley, are already in Denmark.

The city’s delegation got a mega dose of star power Monday when the White House announced that President Barack Obama would join his wife in Copenhagen to personally appeal on behalf of Chicago’s bid.
