The Chicago Defender, a historic and influential digital publication serving the African American community, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Account Manager to join our sales team. This role will focus on selling events and digital marketing solutions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales, exceptional client relationship skills, and a passion for driving revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary relationship owner for an assigned group of top-tier client accounts.
- Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships.
- Ensure clients derive maximum value from our events and digital marketing services.
- Sales and Revenue Growth:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing accounts.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to manage and grow accounts.
- Meet and exceed sales targets and performance metrics.
- Event and Digital Marketing Sales:
- Sell and promote The Chicago Defender’s events and digital marketing solutions.
- Prepare and deliver effective client presentations and proposals.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure successful execution of client campaigns.
- Client Satisfaction and Retention:
- Drive client retention, renewals, and upsells.
- Provide superior customer service and ensure client satisfaction.
- Address client issues and resolve them promptly.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and deliver regular status and results reports to clients and internal teams.
- Analyze campaign performance and provide insights for improvement.
- Manage customer activity using CRM tools for maximum efficiency and visibility.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in sales, account management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in managing large account portfolios and achieving sales targets.
- Experience with media sales is highly preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical skills and business acumen.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
