Chicago Center for Arts and Technology Celebrates 5th Anniversary

The Chicago Center for Arts and Technology (CHICAT) celebrated its  5th Anniversary recently on May 12, 2022, with the “Looking back…Innovating Forward” Friendraiser!  The event hosted by ABC 7’s Hosea Sanders  awarded Janice K. Jackson, CEO of HOPE Chicago with the “Innovation in Education Award.”

For the past 5 years, the Chicago Center for Arts and Technology (CHICAT) has educated, empowered, and elevated the talents of individuals and transformed lives by providing equitable and inclusive spaces for youth and adults to learn, work and grow. CHICAT continues to provide an enriching learning environment with access to emerging technologies, artist-led classes, and vocational training to support each person’s pathway.

CHICAT’s education-to-career pipeline has been instrumental in the long-term success of so many Chicago residents. Executive Director, Lisa Moultrie, remarks “The pandemic laid bare inequities that persist within the system of education and labor, CHICAT has been working to remedy these issues since its inception. Although the reality around systemic inequity is stark, CHICAT’s vision will continue to energize us over the next five years and beyond.”

“We were also very excited to honor Janice K. Jackson for her work in “redefining the education landscape” at Hope Chicago which has funded post-secondary scholarships and non-tuition costs for Chicago public school graduates,” Lisa Moultrie added.

CHICAT continues to boast:

Invited guests of the upcoming 5th Anniversary in-person celebration enjoyed a festive cocktail reception with a lavish buffet, live music, student gallery exhibition, live event painting, and awards program.
