Chicago business owner one of 50+ Allstate agencies leading national donation drive to help domestic violence victims regain their independence

Allstate Insurance rallies community to donate toiletries and women’s professional clothing for YWCA Metropolitan Chicago to help financial abuse survivors break free, rebuild their lives

Local Allstate agency owner Frances Wright and 13 of her fellow agency owners are partnering with YWCA Metropolitan Chicago to collect critical professional clothing items and toiletries during October’s National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Victims who escape domestic violence situations often leave with only the clothes on their back – donating toiletries and lightly used suits, dresses, blouses and more helps these women take the first step toward getting back on their feet.

The donation drive is part of a national Allstate Foundation Purple Purse effort, with over 180 Allstate agencies in 23 states participating. Chicago-area residents can drop off clothing and other items.

Donations are being accepted at from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays; and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays at Frances Wright: Allstate Insurance, 9013 S Western Ave., Chicago, Ill., 60643, through Saturday, Oct. 11.
