Macy’s celebrated its partnership with Chicago Bulls Rookie Denzel Valentine and Bar III clothing line with an in-store appearance.
Over 200 guests came to Macy’s on State Street to meet and take photos with the NBA player or have their basketballs signed while enjoying passed hors d’oeuvres, a mocktail bar, and a pop-a-shot basketball game with prizes.
Denzel Valentine was recently drafted by the Chicago Bulls for the 2016-2017 season as shooting guard. Born in Lansing, Michigan in 1993, Valentine was a four-year player at Michigan State, where he became the first player in MSU history to be recognized as the National Player of the Year by The Associated Press. He also earned player of the year awards from the NABC, USA Today, Sports Illustrated, NBC Sports and Basketball Times.
In addition to his new job with the Bulls, Valentine is the newest face of Bar III — a contemporary line of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, exclusive to Macy’s. Valentine will sport the Macy’s Bar III line before and after his games throughout his first season with the Chicago Bulls.
