Albert Johnson, or Prodigy, as he’s widely known, opens up about his career and his struggle with sickle cell anemia in his autobiography.

Prodigy, formerly of Mobb Deep, said the book will eliminate all confusion, clear up misconceptions and will show readers the real story about hip-hop.

“I love all the eras that hip-hop goes through,” Prodigy told the Defender.

Having worked with different artists such as Tupac Shakur and 50 cent, he said that it is “crazy to look back.”

He also aims to educate readers about sickle cell. A portion of the proceeds will go to “The No Pain Campaign” foundation.
