“We’ve been perfecting our Angus Third Pounders for more than two years,” said Ron Lofton, president of McDonald’s Owner/Operators of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana (MOCNI).

On July 2, 2009, Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana McDonald’s restaurants debuted a new line of hamburgers – Angus Third Pounders – made with 100 percent U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)-inspected Angus beef, with fresh produce and savory ingredients such as red onions, saut%uFFFDed mushrooms, crisp green iceberg lettuce and sliced red tomatoes, served on a bakery-style sesame seed roll. “We’ve been perfecting our Angus Third Pounders for more than two years,” said Ron Lofton, president of McDonald’s Owner/Operators of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana (MOCNI).  “Our three savory flavors demonstrate McDonald’s commitment to premium quality and freshness at always convenient prices.

Clark Street McDonald’s location on Wednesday, July 1.  On hand for the “unveiling” was Ronald McDonald and Grammy-nominated jazz ensemble, the Mike Frost Trio.
