Robbins, Illinois and Mayor Tyrone Ward will host “Father’s & Men of Professional Basketball Players An Open Forum” on Feb. 15, 2020 from 12 noon to 3pm. The open forum will feature former NBA players who will speak on their climb to success and words of wisdom to children ages 10 plus.

To the family of Daya Dimitra Locke 10-11-1942 – 12-29-2019, she was a retired Chicago Public Schools educator and former principal of Calumet High School.
Rhonda Turner Wilson Veal , 12/3/50 – 12/31/2019. Rhonda was a graduate of Harlan HS, Southern Illinois University (1971) and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and Trinity Church. Condolences to her family , daughters Kia and Tatia and grandson Steven.
Ceola Davis Barnes recently launched the “Illinois Black Hall of Fame” . The concept is her brainchild and will soon become a reality. Richard Boykin, will serve as the Chairman. After the discussion the group celebrated her birthday and was entertained by Regina Rice with a tribute to “Diana Ross”. The event was hosted by the African –American Ladies Legacy Foundation in partnership with Sarah Ayres and the Arts Committee, Lambda Tau Omega Chapter, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Happy “16th” Birthday – Spencer Leak III
Celebrating the birthday of Spencer III are family members: Spencer Leak II. (Dad); Donna Simpson-Leak (Mom); Emma Leak (Sister); Birthday Guy, Spencer Leak III; Henrietta Leak (Grandmother) and Spencer Leak Sr. (Grandfather).
Global Girls is located in the heart of South shore and provides after school and summer programming for girls ages 5 to 14. The program offers teen co-ed and adult theatre programs. For more information check out www.globalgirlsinc.org.
