CHICAGO (AP) — Some candidates for Chicago mayor are touting ethics plans to clean up a City Hall infamous for its shenanigans. Former White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel said Thursday he’d sign an executive order banning mayoral appointees who leave their posts from lobbying their former colleagues for two years. He also wants to expand the authority of the city’s inspector general. Another candidate, former Chicago school board president Gery Chico, highlighted the ethics reforms he rolled out earlier this week. Chico wants to make changes in the inspector general system. He also wants to restrict city employees and others from doing business with the city for two years after they leave their posts.
