Bulls Start The Season 3-1

By Eugene McIntosh
The Bulls are on pace to win 60 games this regular season as they travel to Charlotte to face the 0-3 Hornets tomorrow evening. An ugly 92-87 win yesterday over the Orlando Magic brought the Bulls record to 3-1. “Jimmy G Buckets” got 2 key steals late to seal the W after the Magic made a 14-0 4th quarter run. He contributed 14 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocks.
Pau Gasol led the balanced attack with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Niko “3Kola” Mirotic added 16 points and 2 blocks. He’s shooting 46% from 3 point range. Doug “McBuckets” also had 12 points. He’s a great spark off the bench as he’s shooting 58% from 3 point range.
With Derrick Rose still recovering from orbital surgery, he’s laid off of the jump shot for now since he can barely see. He is finding ways to involve his teammates more in his offensive absence. He had a team high 8 assists in yesterdays win and added that he’s still working on his conditioning since he basically missed all of training camp.
So far Rose is pleased with the teams play. “It’s all a learning experience…this is only what the 4th game of the year? We’re just trying to learn each other and feel each other out. It’s gonna take a little time but I love the way we’re playing. We’re moving the ball and guys are taking the shots they’re supposed to take. I just wish that Niko would stop pump faking.” DON’T WE ALL…
*Kirk Hinrich was out Sunday with a toe injury but says he’s fine.
