WHEATON, Ill. (AP) — A bond hearing has been scheduled for a suburban Chicago woman charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of two children.
DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin says Elzbieta Plackowska (elz-BEE’-tah plah-KOW’-skuh) of Naperville is to appear in bond court on Thursday. He refused to comment further on the charges against the 40-year-old woman.
Police officers asked to check in on a home found two dead children inside Tuesday.
Police and the prosecutor’s office on Wednesday refused to provide any details about how the children were killed or give their names. However, officials at Brookdale Elementary School say one of the children was a kindergartener there.
Authorities did say there’s no reason to believe others were involved in the crime.
