One of the most beautiful contributions to our Chicago skyline is the architectural design and backdrop of our buildings. Many of these buildings stretch from the South Shore community and as far North as Evanston providing an abundance of private housing and commercial leasing options for many Chicago residents and businesses.

of the top building owners and property management firms came together for the BOMA annual Diversity Celebration reception in April to recognize the growing diversity in this field. BOMA (Building Owners and Managers Association of Chicago) is a trade association representing the interests of the Chicago office building industry. Held at the Venue SIX10, the event highlights reaching out and developing education and career opportunities for commercial real estate industry professionals from underrepresented groups.

One of the founding members of BOMA Diversity Committee is Reginald L. Ollie recognized the lack of diversity in the commercial real estate industry in Chicago and established a special scholarship. As a way to raising funds, the event is a major funding source for the Reginald L. Ollie Inclusion and Outreach Scholarship which is awarded to at least one recipient each year and covers the full tuition cost for all classes leading to the RPA designation.

This year’s recipients of the award are Shenica Collins, The Hearn Company and Marissa Rosado, JLL. Some of the key sponsors included: JLL, CBRE, Hearn, Harvard, Comcast Business and USA Fire Protection.
