The wife of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich has had to leave the courtroom at her husband’s corruption trial because a prosecution witness included testimony about her. The often stone-faced Patti Blagojevich has sat in the courtroom since the trial began. But according to procedures established earlier, she’s supposed to leave when certain testimony arises. Blagojevich’s first chief of staff, Alonzo Monk, said fundraiser Tony Rezko offered Patti Blagojevich a job at one of his businesses. Monk didn’t know if she actually took the job. She isn’t charged in the case. A defense attorney has said she’ll testify at some point. Blagojevich has pleaded not guilty to charges that he conspired to profit from President Barack Obama’s old Senate seat and pressured people for campaign donations.
