Ousted Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s attorneys are heading back to federal court to meet with U.S. District Judge James B. Zagel. The Friday morning meeting is for the judge to confer with the attorneys on the status of the case. The defense team has been slow to come together. As it stands now, the primary work of the former governor’s defense is being handled by Chicago attorney Sheldon Sorosky, a longtime Blagojevich friend, and a father-son criminal defense team, Sam Adam and Samuel E. Adam. The two Adams were prominent members of the team that won an acquittal on all charges for R&B singer R. Kelly at his child pornography trial. The team also added a group of "contract lawyers" to grind through mountains of documents prosecutors have turned over. ______ Copyright 2009 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
