Congratulations to Bishop Carlton Pearson, formerly of Higher Dimensions Ministries in Tulsa, Oklahoma who is preparing to make Chicago his new home. On May 17, the current pastor of New Dimensions Church will assume full duties as pastor of Christ Universal Temple.
“I am excited to move to Chicago and to join the Christ Universal Temple family. We will make it a world class institution and take the ministry to new heights and assist people in living their best lives with a practical religious doctrine,” said Pearson.
Fifty-two years ago, the Rev. Johnnie Coleman founded the New Thought ministry that evolved into a thriving ministry at Christ Universal Temple. She retired as the church’s pastor three years ago.
Pearson, a world-renowned televangelist, quickly fell from grace after divulging his newfound beliefs that “God loves on a global basis, not just an American or Christian basis.” He later transcribed them in his book, "The Gospel of Inclusion," which drew tremendous controversy and caused many to deem him a heretic.
During an interview with the Oral Roberts protΘgΘ, he shared that, “The Gospel of Inclusion is that God was in Christ reconciling the world for himself not counting men’s sins against them … the whole comos makeup of the human race has been redeemed through Christ. But it includes the whole cosmopolitan make-up of the human race and they don’t know it yet, but it is our job to give them that news, that their sins have been atoned for.”
Pearson and his family will move to Chicago in June.
