NEW YORK — While the world’s greatest athletes put on a dizzying display of aeriel acrobats on the basketball court, pop culture observers were busy playing the sport of celebrity watching — and there were plenty A-listers in attendance at the Madison Square Garden in Midtown Manhattan looking at the kind of theatrics they usually dole out to fans.
