Family strife aside, Solange Knowles was successfully married to fiance Alan Ferguson at a small wedding ceremony in New Orleans on Sunday.
Jay Z, the victim of Solange’s stilettos in an elevator earlier this year, was front and center at the wedding along with megastar wife Beyonce and toddler daughter Blue Ivy. Father Mathew Knowles, the architect of both his daughters’ musical careers, was a conspicuous absence. He has brought incredible levels of embarrassment to the family in recent months and years. His rampant infidelity made Tina Knowles file for divorce from him. Worse, DNA tests prove indisputably that Mathew Knowles is the father to two different baby mamas, including a former friend of Solange’s.
Solange, 28, and Ferguson, 51, had their nuptials done in an all-white affair that was matched by the wedding guests, including mother Tina Knowles.
According to E!, among the many events on the schedule was a family gathering on Friday night at the Indywood Cinema Theater, where guests watched the Diana Ross film “Mahogany.”
Not familiar with Alan Ferguson? He is a filmmaker directing videos for Beyoncé, Jay Z, Katy Perry, Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes, and Nelly Furtado.
Solange’s son, Julez, from her first marriage reportedly played a big part in the big day. It’s worth noting that Ferguson has played a big role in Julez’s life, as he and Solange have been together for over five years.
