ATLANTA — One hundred-degree stifling, suffocating, scorching heat proved to scarcely be a deterrent to celebrities and nominees from flossing suits and full-length dinner gowns at the Steve Harvey’s 2014 Ford Neighborhood Awards debut at Phillips Arena in downtown ATL.

LisaRaye mixed it up with the crowd behind the blue carpet at Phillips Arena.

The actual Neighborhood Award show, which this writer attended and watched from high up inside the Cricket Wireless suite, was by far the funniest and funnest and most uplifting awards program that I have ever attended.

Steve Harvey opened up the show making people’s liver quiver with his brand of comedy that works like a blunt object to the skull. George Wallace nearly made your chest cave in. And Lovelle almost had the audience choking when he was insulted that he was picked to give the award for Best Soul Food.
