CHICAGO- Game goers need to be aware of a new NFL policy this season that limits the size and types of bags individuals can carry into Soldier Field.

The new policy goes into effect in Chicago today for the Bears’ preseason game against the San Diego Chargers.

Fans will be allowed to only carry items that fall within the following guidelines:

Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12″ X 6″ X 12″

One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)

Small clutch bags, about the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap, may be carried into the stadium along with one of the clear bag options

An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at a gate designed for that purpose.

Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: purses larger than a clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, non-clear cinch bags, luggage of any kind, seat cushions with zipped covers, pockets or flaps, computer bags and camera bags or any bag larger than the permissible size. There will be no exceptions.

Visit www.chicagobears.com/prohibiteditems for a complete list of prohibited items.

There are no storage areas available near the stadium to stow restricted items while attending the game. Individuals can rent storage lockers at Chicago Union Station. The lockers are located in the Amtrak baggage area.
