Hollywood A-list and Golden Globe Award-winning actress Angela Bassett will host the Chicago Urban League’s 49th Annual Golden Fellowship Dinner Nov. 6 at the Hilton Chicago, 720 S. Michigan Ave. The gala, one of the most well-attended in the city, will also include a performance by seven-time Grammy Award-winning musician and vocalist Al Jarreau.

The Urban League will also present at the dinner the prestigious Edwin C. “Bill” Berry Civil Rights Award. The honor will be given to an individual who has made significant contributions to the advancement of African Americans and other underserved communities.

According to the Urban League, the annual dinner provides financial support for the organization’s civil rights and economic empowerment programs.
