Actress Ayo Edebiri says she faced “insane death threats” after Elon Musk shared a fake report about her being cast in a film.

On her Instagram Story, Edebiri called out Musk for reposting a report from “Unlimited L’s,” a rightwing social media account, that falsely stated she was slated to replace Johnny Depp in a reboot of the Pirates of the Carribean.

“Disney sucks,” Musk previously wrote on X, formerly Twitter, as he quote tweeted the fake report.

The Bear actress recalled receiving the “most insane death threats and racial slurs” after Musk spread the casting rumor.

“Just remembering when I got some of the most insane death threats and racial slurs of my life (idk if it’s the #1 moment, but for sure top 3) for a fake reboot of a movie I had never even heard of because of this man,” Edebiri wrote on her Instagram Story alongside Musk’s post. “LMAO. So not only is he double s**g h**l-ing [sieg heil-ing] fascist, he’s an idiot but anyway.”

In response to Edebiri’s post, “Unlimited L’s”, the original account that spread the misinformation, wrote in an X post, “I clearly stated ‘reportedly’ because it was the latest information coming from credible Hollywood sources. And yes, I am a HUGE fan and supporter of Mr Musk. He has my loyalty for LIFE, and I don’t say that lightly.”

It’s unclear what “credible Hollywood sources” the owner of the right-wing account was referring to.

In a separate Instagram post, Edebiri praised comedian Bill Burr for calling out Musk as a “Nazi” on NPR’s Fresh Air.

“I just refuse to believe it was an accidental two-time Sieg Heil,” Burr said of Musk’s controversial hand gesture at President Donald Trump’s inauguration.

Burr also described Musk as an “idiot” with “dyed hair plugs and a laminated face” and someone “who makes a bad car and has an obsolete social media platform”.
