New Children’s Book, “Yo Yo Don’t Play That” Teaches Children about Making the Right Choices.

Myrtis Randolph, MPH, merges her faith in God and her education in public health to address issues and obstacles children face every day. She created the book, “Yo Yo Don’t Play That” to teach children about making the right choices. She enjoys working with youth and has served as a Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible Study coordinator, and children’s church instructor.

Randi and her main character are based on Myrtis’ last name and her childhood nickname “Yoyo.” Randi uses her special yo-yo to help her, and her friends make the right decisions. “When Randi and her friends don’t know what to do….Her special yo-yo always comes through.”

Myrtis uses scriptures to teach children about making the right decisions and consequences to actions (whether good or bad). This series, “Yo Yo Don’t Play That!” has made a large impact on adults. “Start children off on the way they should go; even when they are old, they will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6 NIV
