HARTFORD, Conn. — An attorney for a New Jersey blogger facing charges in Illinois and in Connecticut for allegedly making threats against lawmakers and judges says he worked with the FBI to deliberately make provocative statements that would cause others to act criminally. Defense attorney Michael Orozco told reporters after a hearing in Hartford that his client, Hal Turner, published provocative information so that people who acted could be arrested by federal authorities. Prosecutors have previously acknowledged that Turner was an informant for several years, paid by the government to spy on radical right-wing organizations. Turner is accused in Connecticut of urging people there to "take up arms" against state legislators. His arraignment was rescheduled to Oct. 19 because he is in federal custody in Illinois, where he is accused of threatening to kill three federal judges. ______ Copyright 2009 Associated Press.
