Police in the Chicago suburb of Maywood say they’ve made an arrest in the shooting death of a Proviso East High School student earlier this month.
Police officials on Monday morning wouldn’t release any details about the arrest. Maywood Police Sergeant Tim Curry would only confirm Sunday that an arrest had been made in the killing of 17-year-old Tawanna Ford of Bellwood. Ford was shot in the head while sitting a car with her boyfriend on June 2. At the time, police described her death as an act of "senseless random violence."
