April V. Lewis Carter serves as the Payroll & Benefits Coordinator at Posen – Robbins School District 143.5. A proud graduate of Illinois State University with a BS in Economics and a minor in Real Estate, she embarked on a successful 30-year career as a Licensed Mortgage Loan Officer. Her passion for numbers and mathematics has also been a driving force in both her mortgage career and her role as the Executive Administrator of the Carolyn Y Adams Breast Cancer Foundation, where she also chairs the Scholarship Committee and heavily participates in community outreach. The foundation holds deep personal significance as it honors her late sister, the former Illinois Lottery Superintendent.

April attributes her strength to her upbringing by a single Mother and Great-Grandparents who instilled a love for Jesus Christ and set the foundation of her closely-knitted family. Her mantra, “Praise God Everyday,” reflects her gratitude for raising two successful children as a single parent. Beyond her professional and philanthropic pursuits, April cherishes her role as a Grandmother to her first Granddaughter and being her family’s social butterfly. In her leisure time, she enjoys serving in her church’s choir, reading with her book club and skating.
