The American Medical Association has a message for President Barack Obama as he convenes a last-ditch health care summit. AMA President James Rohack says the nation’s largest doctors’ group won’t accept a stalemate. He spelled out the AMA’s concerns in a letter shared with Obama and congressional leaders before Thursday’s bipartisan summit. Rohack reiterated the AMA’s support for insurance reforms and reducing costs. And he also emphasized the AMA’s long-standing push for medical liability reforms. Obama is meeting with Republicans and Democrats at the Blair House, across the street from the White House. The summit is being televised live. Copyright 2010 The Associated Press.
